2nd Generation Crockett Rifle Makers

Samuel's sons, Andrew and James joined the Virginia Militia and served in the Revolutionary War under John Montgomery in the mid-Cumberland area of Tennessee

The mission established by top commander, General George Rogers Clark, was to avert British "back door" attacks from the Western lands beyond the Appalachian Mountains.

General Clark arranged a land grant from that "illegal" Transylvania Land Company". The grants were initially invalidated.

However, after the war, Judge Henderson was elected to the North Carolina legislature whereby he negotiated legislation to legalize the grants.

Andrew's 640 acres was located in the vicinity of present day Wilson Pike and Crockett Road in Williamson County TN.
