Historic Montauban, France
Ancestral Home of the Crockett Rifle Makers

In the Medieval days of city-states, the people built walls around their cities to protect themselves from attack. The Montauban walls were particularly effective in warding off attacks because they were sawtooth in shape, making them easier to defend. These walls were never breached or torn down in warfare. A river running within the walls supplied water.
